Hilariously Disastrous and Inedible Results, 16 January 2012
By Jeff Johnson "Jeff Johnson" (Chicago, IL)

I am no pancake guru, but I can make some really good pancakes from a mix. However, with Batter Blaster's vague and inacurate instructions, you too can attempt 4 times to make a pancake and hilariously burn them every time. The instructions tell you just turn the can upside-down, shake and aim the nossel downward and make a pancake any size you want. The instructions tell you to set your heat to mid-high at 325 degrees. That seems to instantly burn pancakes within a minute of cooking one side. There is no instruction to use any kind of cooking oil or PAM on the pan. With or without, seems to give the same burnt result. So the next time I adjusted to a mid-low temperature like the normal pancakes I've made and that seems to help, but I still manage to burn the pancakes quickly when cooking pancakes from a mix I've never burnt one. Once I finally made an edible pancake there were plenty of air pockets inside of it. It was pretty synthetic tasting. Beware of your results. The instructions also don't say to flip the pancake... so maybe you're not supposed to?

After making a few pancakes, I'm just left with a lot of questions and no answers. Perhaps I am too dumb to make something this simple?

Perfect for those who are not gourmet cooks, 30 July 2009
By deedee (Seattle)

Did not have any of the burning issues that others spoke about, course I followed the directions on the back of the can exactly because I don't cook a lot. Cook on medium, do smaller size pancakes as they are easier to flip. Made plain and with blueberries and both were delish!

Is this going to be as good as from scratch pancakes? Of course not and anyone who actually thinks something from a can and something from scratch is going to to taste the same is a bit crazy! Does it take 100 times better than from a box? YES!

Convenience - no clean up, no mess, super easy. Faster to make a pancake breakfast than making toast- completely crazy yet true!

Would highly recommend to people who want a fast, yummy breakfast, who hate cleanup and who are not gourmet cooks (or have an amazing cook living with them)!

Not worth the convenience, 28 July 2009
By Michael J. Miller "derrmill" (NJ United States)

It seems like a great idea, a pancake that blasts out of a can. What an easy way for mom or dad to get breakfast rolling, what fun for the kids. However, this product spurts out substandard pancakes that burn before they can cook through. I've tried different temperatures, different pans, always the same result. The flat, less that robust pancakes taste fine, but I'd rather spend a few more moments mixing up my own batter and getting a better quality hotcake for my family.

Fun to cook...for someone else to eat, 06 July 2009
By K C Rhodes

Lots of fun squirting the pancakes out and no bowl to clean. Like the others said, they burn easily so cook on medium or low. The taste is pretty disappointing - maybe that's the propellant? For great taste, try Bruce's Sweet Potato pancake mix, which is also heart-healthy. I would not buy this product again.

Tips for Perfect BB Pancakes, 19 June 2009
By HungryJack (West Coast)

- Always use non-stick spray
- Make sure you heat is not too high
- Keep BB in your refrigerator door or let it set out for a few minutes before using. If the batter is too cold, you will have problems with the inside not being cooked when the outsides are done. Also the nozzle flow is better when the batter is not so cold. - Some tips for better BB pancakes - :)

 burns, 16 June 2009

I found that no matter the temperature of the pan or the burner, the pancakes burned very quickly, and before the centers were done.

Great Quick Breakfast, 15 June 2009
By Susan K. Erickson "Sue Kay" (Seattle WA)

This is such a good idea! Easy to use. No fuss or mess. Make a few now and the rest later. And most important they taste better then a mix. You have to try this. It's really good.

The Greatest Invention Of All Time, 18 May 2009
By Norm Gregory "Former International Media Star" (Seattle)

The worst part of making pancakes/waffles is the messy creation of the batter. Forget it. One can of Batter Blaster makes about sixteen 4 inch pancakes . . . with no fuss, no mess. And they taste terrific. It will be hard to resist not having pancakes or waffles (about five minutes with my Geo Forman grill) every morning.
