Customers have requested bananas that arrive ripe & ready to eat because our "ripe" bananas are shipped slightly green. (We do this because ripening speed will vary due to differences in core or "pulp" temperatures). You might find a slightly spotted banana because of the core temperature issue, but we have priced these bananas to provide a great value. They will arrive ripe and ready to eat or will be perfect for banana bread in a few days if left at room temperature.

I don't know what bananas cost, but I got the "slightly green" bananas last time (about 3 weeks ago) and they are still rock hard and impossible to eat. This time I thought I'd get 1 "value pack" of ripe bananas. I got 15 ripe bananas. Guess I can't complain too much since I just looked up what the organic bananas at Safeway online cost (.41 each).

Wow - I was shocked when I saw how many bananas I received. I usually purchase the 6 unripe organic bananas and pay a bit more than these 15 ripe organic bananas! There were some with slight bruises, but overall excellent quality.

I like ripe bananas. Price is fair. I freeze any if they turn too ripe (smoothies!). But they deliver bananas with BLOCKS OF FROZEN ICE. I got them this way even in 20degree weather in Dec! If they do this to you and they don't ripen correctly, complain. I stopped ordering them but would order regularly if they eliminate the ICE with delivery.

The product page doesn't specify how many bananas come in a "Value Pack". When I ordered, I got 13 individual (not bunched) bananas.
They're tasty, though!
