I've purchased several of these birds, and they are a great value for organic chicken, half the price that I've seem them in some other places. I like to roast them whole, and I usually get a pretty juicy / tender chicken. The two things to be aware of - I've gotten chickens where there are still feather pins attached in the skin - they are easy to take out, and usually in areas where you aren't serving that part of the chicken anyways, but keep an eye out for them. Also, these chickens don't stay fresh long - I try to time it where I am cooking it within 1-2 days of receipt. I'm sure it is still fine to eat within a week of receipt, but the longer you wait to unwrap it, the stinkier it is.

air chilled is something that i favor and was very, very happy to see that amazon fresh understands the difference this type of processing brings to the table. organic AND free range are also a big plus in my book. another selling point was that the neck and innards were all included in the cavity (not always the case with all companies due to easy spoilage). the taste is equal or better than any of the organic chickens sold in seattle (i have tasted them all). the fact that it is a california company lessens the transportation costs for those of us here on the west coast. i am a very happy girl. price was comparable to buying directly from a market. thank you, amazon fresh and mary's !
