This was the only artesian bread that didn't state that it was sour dough. Unfortunately it is sour dough. We don't like sour dough, so it was a waste. But if you like sour dough, it has a nice hard crust with a subtle sour dough flavor. I wish Amazon fresh carried real bread like a baguette or even a nice italian country loaf.

I just purchased this loaf and am disappointed in the quality of the bread. It's hard as a rock and stale. Not consumable. I would not recommend purchasing this.

I have a confession to make...I hate eating the crust of bread. In fact, if no one is watching, I will dig out the "inside" of the bread and feed the rest to the birds, ducks, squirrels, etc. What makes the Essential Baking Columbia Loaf so good is that it is hearty. It's baked fresh every morning and arrives at my door, saying "I'm yummy...pair me with pasta or stew!" and I listen. I may or may not eat the crust, but I will enjoy the bread to it's fullest extent. So get this...it's fresh and local, which for me, means it's tasty and we are supporting our local businesses.
