Amazon Gift Cards on AmazonFresh.com
You can use Amazon.com Gift Cards to make purchases on AmazonFresh.com.
How will AmazonFresh charge my gift card and credit card? AmazonFresh will charge your gift card first and then your credit card.
- If your order total is larger than your Amazon.com Gift Card balance, AmazonFresh will deduct your entire gift balance and charge any remaining balance to your credit card.
- If your order total is less than your Amazon.com Gift Card balance, AmazonFresh will deduct the amount of your order from your gift card balance and your credit card will not be charged.
Can I pay with a portion of my gift card? AmazonFresh does not allow you to specify that a portion of your gift card balance be used on an order. However, if the amount of your order is less than your available gift card balance, we'll store the remaining balance in your account.
What happens to my gift card and credit card if I get a refund on an order?
- If you paid with only a gift card, AmazonFresh will refund your Amazon.com Gift Card. The refund will appear on your Amazon.com Gift Card balance within 1-2 business days.
- If you paid with a gift card and a credit card, AmazonFresh will refund your credit card first then your Amazon.com Gift Card
How do I edit the payment method on an order?
- If your order has not yet been placed: To apply a new gift card balance to your account, click the "Redeem this gift card" button on the Order Preview page (see image to the right). If you already have a gift card balance applied to your account and would like to apply those funds to your order, click the "Apply this amount to my current order" button. If you already have a gift card balance applied to your order and want to remove it from the order, click the "Remove gift card from order" button (see image to the right).
- If your order has already been placed: It is not yet possible to add or remove gift card funds from an order that has already been placed. To add gift card funds to an order that has already been placed, please contact AmazonFresh.com Customer Service and they will assist you. To remove gift card funds from an order that has already been placed, you can either cancel the order to release the gift card funds and place another order, or contact AmazonFresh.com Customer Service and they will assist you.
What items are ineligible for gift cards? Items sold by third party merchants through the Fulfilled By AmazonFresh program are not eligible for Amazon.com gift cards. If your order contains some AmazonFresh items and some third party items, we will apply your gift card to the eligible AmazonFresh items and not the ineligble third party items. Due to legal restrictions, orders containing alcohol are ineligible for gift cards. No gift card balance will be applied to orders containing alcohol.
Paying with a new Amazon.com Gift Card
To pay with an Amazon.com gift card on AmazonFresh, do the following:
- Place the items you want to buy in your shopping cart.
- Click the "Proceed to Checkout" button.
- Sign into your account when prompted.
- Enter your claim code into the box labeled "Do you have any gift cards?" and click the "Redeem this Gift Card" button.
If you have an available gift card balance already, we'll display that for you. Simply click the "Apply this amount to my current order" button.
Finding Gift Card Claim Codes
The location of you claim code and the number of characters can vary based on the type of gift card you have. Here's some general guidelines for identifying your claim code:
- Always labeled "Claim Code": The number labeled "Claim Code" on the gift card is always the one you'll want to enter on AmazonFresh.com or Amazon.com when making a purchase.
- Always between 14 and 16 digits: Your gift card claim code will be a string of 14 to 16 characters that may consist of numbers, letters, or both. If your gift card also has numbers labeled UPC or S/N#, these are used for tracking purposes only and are not the gift card claim code.
- Scratch to reveal: If you've received an Amazon gift card that was purchased from a local retailer, you'll need to scratch off the covering on the back of the card to reveal the claim code. The card number that appears on the front cannot be used to make a purchase and is for tracking purposes only
Getting Help with Gift Card Orders
What do I do if I receive a message that the gift card had already been redeemed? If you receive a message saying the gift card has already been redeemed, your gift card has already been applied to your account. If you have a remaining balance on that gift card, the balance amount will appear above the "Apply my gift card balance to my current order" button. In this case, the funds are available for purchase without entering the claim code again. To apply the funds to your order, press the "Apply my gift card balance to my current order" button. If the funds do not appear above the "Apply my gift card balance to my current order" button and you want to verify whether you have any remaining balance on your gift card, visit the Your Account page on Amazon.com and select "View Gift Card Balance" or contact AmazonFresh.com Customer Service.
What happens to my extra gift card balance? If the amount of the gift card is more than the amount of your purchase, we'll store the remaining balance in your account. If you use the same e-mail address and password to log into both AmazonFresh.com and Amazon.com, gift card balances not already used for a purchase will be available to buy stuff from either website.
How do I get help with an invalid or undeliverable gift card? AmazonFresh.com Customer Service is happy to help you solve problems with gift cards ordered from Amazon.com. At AmazonFresh.com, we'll do our best to help you apply your gift card to your AmazonFresh.com order and answer your gift card questions.
How do I buy an Amazon.com gift card for use on AmazonFresh.com? Simply visit the Amazon.com gift card page to view all your available gift card options. You can even use the e-mail address and password for your AmazonFresh.com account to log into Amazon.com and complete your gift card purchase.
